Haldane Youth Service is a registered charity delivering after-school activities and youth provisions for children aged between 4 and 18 years old in West Dunbartonshire. We are a community based, grassroots charitable organisation, managed by local volunteers who strive to give back to their community, promoting equity amongst all who use our service and facilities. We aim to make a positive difference to the lives of young people by raising aspirations, broadening horizons, encouraging confidence and increasing self-esteem. We aim to give our young people a voice within their community, we reward commitment and positive social interaction and assist young people to have a better understanding about making healthy lifestyle choices.
With the cost-of-living crisis impacting mental health, wellbeing, as well as income, the funding will mean that the charity can continue to deliver program of progressive experiential activities for children aged 4 to 18.
Carolyn Mackie, the Project Lead Worker of the charity, thanked Bank of Scotland Foundation's Reach Programme for the grant they received. She said, "This grant will help us to keep supporting children and young people in our local area and ensure that they have access to the resources and assistance they need to stay connected and engaged with their community. Donald MacKechnie, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Insurance & Wealth Transformation and Strategy Director, Lloyds Banking Group said, “We are delighted to award Haldane Youth Services with £15,000 of funding.
